Median Investment in Video Game Developers 2023:

While the annual median investment in game development studios fell to its lowest value in four years to $2.5M, the median investment value by quarter increased to $3.0M in Q4. This is +200% in value from Q2’s low of $1.0M but still significantly down from Q1’s $4.0M.

Unlike Q3 where the median size studio that received the highest volume of investments was 8 employees, Q4 2023 saw more investments favored studios between 10-20 employees (36%) with a median of 16 employees.
