Employee Spotlight: Mat Mortlock

Mat Mortlock is a Senior Business Development Coordinator for our Representation division. He liaises with our European developer clients to assist in maximizing new concept potential. In doing so, he evaluates pitch materials and provides concise and informed feedback. He’s also the Head Scheduler for tradeshows and oversees logistic and planning responsibilities for all major tradeshows. Mat joined DDM in 2011 from the UK video game publisher Codemasters. Starting as a QA technician, Mat rose through the ranks to become Acquisition and Developer Relations Executive where he was responsible for finding incredible developer talent and awesome new game projects for Codies to publish.

Mat is a truly hardcore gamer. Games have been his passion and hobby for as long as he can remember. He also loves cinema and movies and enjoys many different genres; horror is a particular favorite. Perhaps this is why one of his favorite films of all time is Evil Dead II. It Follows and Mad Max: Fury Road are recent favorites, too. When Mat finds the time, he has a thrash on his Roland electric drum kit for some stress relief and tasty grooves. Currently, Mat is journeying through Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Witness, Unravel and just finished Firewatch.
