Update on DDM’s Industry Guidance Practice
While 2020 was a year often defined by challenges and obstacles, it also presented its fair share of opportunities and growth, especially in the video game industry. In addition to a record-breaking year for our representation practice, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide an update on what is happening with our Industry Guidance offering in 2021.
Our Industry Guidance offering covers four areas, all designed to help our clients achieve their goals and maximize their success in the games industry:
- Insight and Strategy: Our consulting work brings together our combined knowledge, research and reach to help clients build, refine and execute their game industry business strategies
- Investment Services: We provide investment strategy, research (including the DDM Games Investment Review), securement of investment/M&A and uncover the right targets for funders
- Games Production: DDM connects you with all the services to augment the core development team which are needed to develop, publish and support game releases successfully
- IP and Brand Extensions: Our partners and experts help to maximize revenue and IP value through initiatives such as card and board games, graphic novels and licensed merchandise
As you have read in previous newsletters, DDM has expanded its Data & Research services throughout the past 12 months. About a year ago, we announced the DDM Games Investment Review, which has been retooled and restructured to provide immediate value to the industry — we encourage you to check out our recently-released free report. We have used bespoke research and our industry-leading investment data to provide targeted and effective assistance to our clients to guide their strategic plans and investment decisions.
Additionally, and as announced in our previous newsletters, our Investment Services team has assisted with several significant investment and acquisition deals in different gaming industry sectors. We provide deep consulting services in this regard to help our clients build their strategy for investment and then work diligently to secure the right partner — all without charging any upfront fees.
Our Production Services team continues to expand its roster of proven, trusted solutions for each aspect of development, publishing and marketing that cannot be met in-house by your internal team. In addition to our company clients, this also includes high-profile individual talents like Darick Robertson (creator of The Boys) and Raney Shockne (composer for NBC’s Debris and music in Cyberpunk 2077).
We are actively providing these services to leading game corporations, development studios, investment firms, media companies and new entities setting up their business in games.
